My attorney told me he needed to have an expert develop a Life Care Plan to support my case.  I did not understand what this was, so he explained this report would help to outline future costs for medical care and items needed for the rest of my life. He explained having this document would help my case and help him to get the money I needed to cover all treatment and care following my motor vehicle accident where I was seriously injured with numerous fractures and a traumatic brain injury.

I met with the Life Care Planner. She was nice, very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. She made suggestions for treatment and equipment I never thought of. I never thought I might need a stair lift, a walk in bathtub, a scooter, or additional railings in my home as I got older. She was right. Even in the 5 years since we met, I am having more pain and a harder time doing things for myself. My attorney put the money I received in my settlement into a trust and I now use the money to buy the items we spoke about when the plan was developed. I am grateful for her knowledge and foresight. It is helping me to remain comfortable and independent.
